Overcoming Obstacles in your Fitness Journey
Obstacles often come with no notice. Trying to overcome them can be frustrating and maintaining motivation can be just as challenging. Keeping and moving forward with your goals is most important.
There are many barriers to fitness and many obstacles that could try to prevent you from reaching your goal. Whether this be your long or short term goal, you need to get there and if it is important to you, you will.
Many will say that they do not have time to exercise or eat healthy. Keeping a planner with a scheduled time to exercise will help you to stay consistent. After all, this is a meeting that is too important, you cannot cancel. Exercise is a stress reliever and can be a healthy coping mechanism for those with depression and anxiety. Self-care is important and underestimated. If you find yourself having difficulty finding time to exercise, waking up earlier to exercise could give you a fresh start to the day! I assure you that the only exercise you will regret is the one you did not do.
It is normal for someone to get bored of a fitness routine they do everyday, at the same time. Switch things up! If you work out in the evening, try the morning. If you workout alone, try working out with a friend or significant other. Even if the person you are working out with is at a different fitness level, it could increase your motivation and help you do better. Maybe cardio training isn't your thing, go to a dance class! There are countless alternatives that could still help you reach your goal.
Eating healthy is not as complicated as it seems. Many people struggle in this area. There is no short-cut diet, but the first step to a healthier you is avoiding all genetically modified food and eating natural. Keeping a healthy snack on hand, such as a piece of fruit or baked protein bar could have a tremendous effect on moving towards your goal. Meal prepping the night before is always a good idea for those of you on the go.
While there are many obstacles to fitness, you cannot let that stop you from reaching the ultimate goal. It all comes down to how bad you want to succeed. If you do, you will find solutions, not excuses. Remember, the only person that is capable of making a change is you. Make that first step, ask for help, remind yourself constantly that you will not quit, and don't forget to wear the sexiest thing, A SMILE!
