Updating Your Old Nutone Intercom System
Having a Nutone intercom system provides a lot of convenience to running your household. Despite, there comes a time when all good things meet their expiration date. If you have noticed the degeneration of your Nutone System then it is time to explore upgrading.
When it comes to replacing your Nutone it is important to know that the entire system will have to be replaced. This means that every station in your home including the master intercom station will have to be changed. The ability to replace it section by section is not an option.
One of the wonderful things about the Nutone Systems is that it does have a retrofit option. This option allows you to reuse the electrical wiring within your walls from the old system with the replacement addition. For example if you have anywhere from 3 to 8 wires installed the retrofit option can still work. Not only can the old wiring still be used you will not have to worry about any reconstruction or relocation of the wires or holes in the wall.
With the NM 100 series (3-4 wires) or the NM 200 (6-8 wires) you have a retrofit system that can furnish up to 15 room and three door stations. Some of the additional features of the NuTone NM100 (The NM 200 has identical features) Series include:
- Automatically turns music on and off at a predetermined time.
- Built-in AM/FM with 16 radio stations. IA30WH Auxiliary input that allows for two external audio devices to be hooked up.
- Talk/Listen option with the Master intercom that enables you to answer and release the door.
- Remote Stations
