Nestled in western Pennsylvania midway between Pittsburgh, Erie, Chicago, and New York City is Mercer County. The community of Greenville, Pennsylvania, is located in northern Mercer County along the beautiful and historic Shenango River, which provides an abundance of opportunities for watercraft and family activities. Within an hour’s drive from the cities of Pittsburgh, Erie and Youngstown, Greenville is home to Thiel College, a long-established institution of higher education founded upon the Lutheran Church, and St. Paul’s, a Continuing Care Community, a premier senior living facility. Residents and visitors alike will enjoy concerts by Greenville Symphony Orchestra and entertaining plays and musicals by the actors of Greenville Area Community Theater. Residents have access to fine public and parochial schools, a highly-respected hospital system, a daily newspaper, excellent restaurants, numerous service organizations, three museums, scenic parks, and nearby lake areas for recreation, camping and ample fishing.

Grove City is well-known for our exceptional shopping. Grove City Premium Outlets is located in Grove City, just off the Grove City exit for I-79. Grove City Premium Outlets has a large variety of outlet shopping that is sure to please everyone. Also located at this exit are plenty of lodging and dining options. But, there is more to Grove City than just the outlets. We have additional shopping, dining, lodging and entertainment in Olde Town Grove City and our West End Business District. We have one of the only original single screen movie theaters still in existence and showing movies every night.
Grove City is also home to other long-standing businesses like George J. Howe Company, who specializes in coffee, candy and nuts, as well as Wendell August Forge which has been the producer of hand forged metal giftware in Grove City since 1932. Mercer Borough is a 200 year old, small town community with much to offer visitors. While strolling the town square, visitors can enjoy an old fashioned ice cream soda, an in store Lionel train display reminiscent of childhood days, several antique shops, a quilt shop and don’t forget a stop at the bakery.
Kicking off the summer events in Mercer, the Mercer Memorial Day 500 Organization celebrate our Veterans with the Memorial Day 500 Parade as well as 500 flags lining the streets. Free Friday night Concerts on the Square, performed by the Mercer Community Band for the past thirty five years, commence in June each year.
Several organizations partner for the town’s summertime event, Old Fashioned Day in the Park which is held at Brandy Springs Community Park in July.
Just minutes away from golf, lodging, shopping and one of the oldest dirt race tracks, Mercer is a great destination for a day trip or an extended stay.
