Improvising the Office, LLC helps businesses grow fearlessly by staying connected to their employees during times of growth-related transition.
I use improv and evidence-based methods to provide high-impact leadership trainings, development programs, team building experiences and individual advising services that have a long-term impact on office culture.
My work is regularly cited by participants as the most "meaningful and impactful" training offered by their employer.
Participants contact me weeks and even months after a training to tell me of their successes diffusing conflict or implementing change using the methods I teach.
Research has demonstrated that people learn best by doing. When they have FUN while learning while doing, the results are powerful!
I am a team building and group dynamic expert who is passionate about using the core foundations of improv and mindfulness practice to bring more business and people to life!
I am here to encourage, uplift and inspire. I use mindful improv to teach practical, approachable, actionable ways to invite more love, hope and freedom into our professional and personal lives.
I found this passion in an unexpected place. It all started in a church basement...
See, in my free time I really enjoy helping people decorate: for parties, for the holidays or just for fun. I like making centerpieces. I like flowers. I like seeing how many problems I can solve with hot glue. I like all of it!
Shortly after we moved to Pittsburgh I got an email from our church administrator saying “We need help decorating for a fundraiser. We don’t really have a budget for decorations, but we have some stuff in the storage room you could use!”
I showed up with an armful of ornamental grass cut from my front lawn and a box filled with various adhesives and (obviously) a hot glue gun. I spent the next few hours with some friends knee-deep in Ball jars, tea lights, faux greenery, glass blocks, spare fabric and dust bunnies.
When we were finished, the space was totally transformed. We made something so beautiful out of what we already had in the basement.
This experience planted the seed in my mind: What else is an explorative attitude and some strategic elbow grease away from being amazing?
There is magic to be made when we accept the current reality and explore it with curiosity instead of judgement. This is the foundation of improv - it's what an "off-stage Yes, And" looks like.
It’s my passion and intention to help businesses and people get where they want to be using the team, the strengths and the skills they already have. I help people build the culture they want to have: in their office or in their home, using the beauty they already have in their basement. It’s the work I’m here to do, and I couldn’t be more delighted by it!
Thank you for stopping by. If you're looking to build something beautiful in your office or in your life - contact me! Whether you’re curious about using improv to promote employee engagement, or you're trying to decide if mindful improv is a good use of a Saturday morning. I'd love to talk with you.
