Had an estimate in hand within two days after I called them and they scheduled a visit. We accepted the estimate, and they had us scheduled within four calendar days. Showed up bright and early Monday morning with a surprisingly large crew of experienced painters, and by 1 pm, the job was complete, including clean up. Great job. We're extremely pleased with the way it came out, and we've already scheduled them for an outside paint project as soon as the weather breaks. Professional, courteous, hard workers who charged a fair price for high quality work delivered promptly. We've found our painting contractor. Thanks Henry and Kevin! Great job.
Description of Work: Three story interior stairwell with white wood wainscoting and flat wall paint that required a color match. Also required a fair amount of surface repair for cracks and prior water damage.

I purchased an old house that needed a lot of work when getting estimates I was encouraged by Henry's assurances that they would scrape and sand to remove the peeling lead paint. After nearly two months of delaying the job, I was disappointed to return home on the first day to see they had already painted the first coat and had not lived up to my expectations in removing the old. While the crew was very respectful of my property, neighbors and clean up I feel they rushed the job.

We did an excessive amount of scraping and sanding on this house it was literally peeling every square inch neglected for 30 to 40 years I told the homeowner from the day one that it would not look like it would it would look like scraped wood that was neglected for 40 years and it looks amazing everybody on the street has commented on how nice this house looks however it does not look like brand new wood in some areas other areas it does amazingly we did an amazing job on this house and she should be very satisfied expectations beyond that are just unreasonable

Henry Weber is a dishonest man. We hired him to do interior painting f several rooms. We could not afford his bid for the entire house. We had a written estimate and were promised two full days of work. The contract was not honored, in fact Henry hand wrote the “contract “ in pencil just an hour before he left. The work was not completed and he charged the same amount for half the work, saying the areas needed extra paint. I pointed several areas where the workmanship was shoddy ( you could still see the unpainted areas, where brushstrokes were stopped, chipped areas and entire walls that were not done). He kept saying, later. I didn’t realize later meant another day at additional charge. They workers were rushed by Mr Weber, saying they had another big job top go to. They left at 12:00 noon on the 2nd day even though the work was not finished. They were unprofessional, cleaning paint brushes inside the house and dripping paint on floor and carpet. We feel totally taken advantage of. We should not have paid the full amount because when the paint dried the next day we could see where the men cut corners and did sloppy work. They even painted over screws ( i could not remove in time ). Would not recommend. I have many pictures to prove their sloppy work.

We did not estimate I work for the day she was not promised two full days of work we contracted the pieces of work she wanted and completed them at the price we are supposed to and we even did extra work for free he just try to get work she couldn't afford the first estimate done for free while we were there there were a few small spots that need it touched up and I offered to do that and she said no to call somebody on dishonest over these things is just wrong I've never been dishonest and as far as I can see the only thing that was dishonest here is this report that she filed

Henry Webber is terrific. He returned our phone calls quickly. He recommended a colorist ahead of time to help us choose colors. He also had opinions of his own that helped us make decisions on some of the detailing. He kept us up to date on his schedule and when our job would start. His crew was polite, friendly, and efficient and cleaned up after the job was done. The paint job looks great! A couple days after the job was done and we had had time to look it over he called to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.

I would ask that that new viewers look at all my reviews, I overwhelmingly have A reports. I called this person every day for more than a week and they were not answering. Then to see this as they know that is very wrong of them. I really think it's a good thing I don't connect with people like this .

While the company did a very good job on the upstairs level, they were not as careful on the downstairs, and were not willing to come back to make the corrections. Several areas required additional work, including repair of the ceiling unevenness, some wall prep in other places, and adding more coats to the wood trim. (3 were promised, got only 1 in some places, 2 at other places, etc.) I selected this bid for the promise of excellent finished look; had bids for this job that were much lower ($3500, $4500) and I was very explicit with what the requirements were. (To be fair, I also had higher $$ bids, this bid was mid-range). The owner worked with me to cut the total cost, which I appreciated - we removed basement area, and he gave a discount. He obliged on the upper floor - has redone several, even small imperfections, etc. For the lower level, I was told that they already done more than necessary for this job, and I needed to fix the rest of imperfections myself. It may be that I have a high standard. But at the same time, they did not spend an hour longer on the job than they planned originally, (actually, exited after 3.5 days, out of expected 4-5 days), so I really don't accept the argument that the job was done "more and beyond" what was called for. I am not a fully satisfied customer... Had to pay another company to fix it.

Not really sure how to respond to this report upon meeting Miss [Member Name Removed] she told me she had three other painting contractors who walked off the job along with two other contractors I quickly realized why she commented on her obsessive compulsive Ness which became extreme to say the least we spent many hours going over minute spots that no one could see outside of her with her spotlight going over every inch of a good size project we complied with everything she wanted did every little detail no matter how compulsive it was she was thoroughly happy with everything paid in full then three weeks later called me asking me to do more spots at this point we are already done more than what we were contracted to do so when she called back I told her that I didn't want to work for her anymore because she literally drove people crazy with her craziness again she's talking about three coats in one coat we did everything we were supposed to she cannot honestly say we did one coat where it should be three this is new construction and that's impossible to do nothing would cover in one coat it had to be three or she would've picked it out she was on top of everything every hour of the day that's just plainly not true again in summary I have a clear conscience that I did everything I was supposed to and a professional complete and is perfect way of any human could do she just is a little wacky with pinhead minute details that no one else could see is reasonable

It went extremely well. My husband and I are both impressed with the completed job. Henry Weber, owner, oversees each job and his team is experienced, diligent and considerate, The job began right on time at 8am and was completed in a timely and efficient manner. My sunroom looks so beautiful and I was impressed with the level of respect that MasterBrush showed for my home. They cleaned up all materials and really left behind a quality job, and I can highly recommend this company if you need a painter. I plan to call them for future painting jobs within my home. Also, the price was very fair.
Description of Work: I needed to have my sunroom painted, This is a large room with plantation shutters, oak crown molding and an impressive oak fireplace and so I believe this was a complex task. The previous owners spared no expense for this room so I was very cautious about hiring a professional painter.

Master Brush painters are knowledgable and quick and thorough....it's always a pleasant experience when they come!
Description of Work: I have used Master Brush many times over the years and been very happy! They recently painted my house in preparation to stage and sell. They did a fantastic job on a downstairs bathroom that had to have ancient wallpaper removed which pulled down plaster. They re-plastered and then painted...it looked fabulous!! Henry's crew were painted the outside of the house as well as the inside areas that needed attention. I'm sure that helped my house to sell in two days. They recently painted my new place. I am thrilled!

The most duplicitious job and would highly recommend you get everything in writing and only pay after viewing the completion. Unfortunately the woodwork was not sanded or prepped and the result was a disaster. They would not come back and blew me off as if I didn't exist. Was also told the job would take 2 weeks because of the significant amount of detail, hence by weeks end they were done? Go elsewhere please.

This review is a total lie. We did everything contracted and more, he checked all of it and paid, he was so satisfied he tipped the crew and complimented the complete operation.after two or three years he thinks he bought a painter on retainer to keep his house clean. I did respond and was not able to fit his repair work in , it was from some other work that he had done, not ours. The whole house was prepped properly and there is no disaster there even to this day, he,s ticked because we couldn,t jump to his command. real weird person.

What impressed me most was the care and attention shown to me and my wife by the Owner, Henry Webber. He suggested the right place to buy the paint which provided a discount and also paint color and selection advice as well. Henry also discussed the different approaches to the trim. Because so much work was being done, we had questions about access to rooms and cleanup and removal of supplies. Henry explained exactly how the work was going to be done and assured us that everything would be cleaned to perfection. He was right on that. The finished work looked spectacular. One of the best treats was that Henry's quote was very reasonable - not the highest. A few months later my 91 year old mother wanted her house painted. I didn't hesitate in recommending Henry. For the first time in my recollection I didn't even think about getting competitive bids. The price was reasonable in my opinion and again, the workmanship was perfect. Mal Sander - Peters Twp.

It was very clearly discussed that we had a wait at the end of our inside season , they agreed and then the week i called to do the work they said they didn,t want to paint, this F is totally unfounded . As they said I still kept in touch updating them and they just decided to stop. I didn,t mislead them in any way,

My husband and I were very pleased with the work Henry and his team has done for us. They painted almost our whole house and it looks stunning. We needed a lot of work done to repair our walls before they could be painted; the team did the repairs beautifully and now you'd never know there had been any problems with the walls! Henry was also very flexible and accommodated some last minute requests from us, which we really appreciated. The paint work and decorating was done to a high standard, as far as my husband and I can tell, and we feel the team took as much care with our decorating as they would have done for their own house. The only thing I would say to be aware of is that the business only seems to use Sherwin Williams paint - something to be aware of if you choose another brand of paint. You'll be asked to have Sherwin Williams color match your paint and the match isn't always a good one. You'll be fine if you pick a Sherwin Williams color from the start! Other than that one issue, we've had a great experience with this company. Everyone arrived on time and all the guys were polite and professional. I'd have the team back any time and have asked them to come back and do our external painting. Thanks guys!!

Henry Webber and his crew of 5 were on time, and set themselves up while Henry and I did a walk-through to discuss and finalize details. Henry remembered small items that I had forgotten, and made several suggestions to improve the job. I was home all day and the painters worked straight through, with just a quick lunch break. By 4 PM they were finished, and Henry and I did a final inspection. There was some doorway trim that Henry was not completely satisfied with; he had one of his painters unload the paint and equipment from the truck and bring the spot up to his standards. The work was flawless, clean-up was perfect. The price was exactly what was quoted, despite the extras that Henry had noted in the initial walk-through. Master Brush is everything that can be asked for in a painter--there's no reason to go anywhere else. As a side note, the crew that did our work were the same people that worked in our home when Master Brush was here a year ago--rare these days.

First of all, I have to admit I am very uncomfortable writing this review because I don't like conflict and I also understand that any contractor has his hands full if he is in demand. I don't expect immediate service when I need someone to come back, and I feel I am pretty understanding and easy to work with. I also buy cold drinks and sometimes food for any contractor that I know is going to be working at my house for any length of time to show my appreciation. I did so for Henry and his crew. They were very polite and expressed their appreciation. I found Master Brush Painting on Angie's List and was very impressed with the reviews. I found Henry Webber to be very easy to talk to when he first came out to do our estimate in 2013. His price was fair and he took a lot of time to walk around and look at all the issues I wanted to bring to attention with our house that we bought in 2009. I don't think it had been painted professionally before we bought it; it was peeling in odd places and I wanted it to be done right so it would look good for as many years as possible before having to do it again. We were originally going to have Henry paint the house in 2013 and he was very good in following up with us to see what a good time was for him to come out to do the job. I ended up delaying it until 2014 because we ended up having unexpected expenses in 2013 that took precedence. Henry was understanding about this. When we talked to Henry this spring he got us on the list to be one of the first to be done. He didn't even change his price which I thought was very professional. But this spring and summer it rained so much and I know he was probably rushed to get his jobs done. Even though I was one of the first ones on the list which I very much appreciated, I have to admit after they got here, I felt they were rushing to get the job done which I think may have is what may caused these two issues because they are time consuming: 1) We were changing our hardware on the front double doors since it was old and broken. The brass kick plates were also old and looked terrible so I ordered new ones. I brought these to the attention of Henry when we first talked in 2013. When they came to paint I asked them to take them off so they could paint but they painted around them instead. Since the hardware I picked out was a different shape then what the original hardware was, there are areas around them that are not painted. Same for the kick plates - they don't look as bad as the door handles but I asked that they all be removed so we could have a smooth clean paint job. Henry told me he didn't know how to remove them and painted around them and said they could be touched up later.. It seemed unusual that he didn't know how to remove these considering he must have run into this with other homeowners, but if he didn't know how that's fine - I think the best thing to have been done is to find someone who would have removed them BEFORE he painted. The door took four coats to cover the old paint. As a result when the old hardware and kick plates were removed and replaced, if you try to touch it up there are visible raised outlines of the hardware that show up that don't go away. I think these areas would now actually need to be at least sanded and/or prepped tin some other way to remove those raised lines before repainting. 2) The concrete porch started peeling within weeks of the job bring completed even though we stayed off of it for a week or so as Henry suggested. It continues to peel in various spots and it is now 5 months since the job has been done. I can see the old paint below it. The prep paint he put under the top coat is what is not adhering to the porch - it adheres to the top coat but not to the porch which is what causes me to question the prep work, OR the prep paint. Henry said he prepped it properly but all I saw was someone sweep the porch and then start painting. The prep and the paint work took less than about 2-3 hours which did not seem right to me. I did some research on my own and looked online under the Sherwin Williams website. Prep work for a previously painted concrete porch is much more involved than just sweeping it and takes a couple of days. I brought this to Henry's attention but he did not respond. I then made contact with the Sherwin Williams rep (Henry works with him since he uses Sherwin Williams paints) to see if he could be of any assistance. The rep did call me and then talked with Henry, but I didn't get any real answers from him either, even though he said he talked to Henry. I asked the rep how the concrete porch was prepped, but he said he didn't know and would check and call me back. I would have thought this was the first question the rep would have asked! I haven't heard from him since. This was at least two -three months ago. I finally got a response from Henry about a month ago and he said he would come to fix the door the next day. He did not come and hasn't called to reschedule. RE: the porch, he thought it was because there was moisture coming up through the concrete that was causing the porch peeling so I should wait until the spring for him to look at it.. I agreed in case this is the issue, but I still wonder why he didn't respond to my question as to HOW he prepped the porch. If in fact he was in a hurry to do things quickly to get on to his next job this very wet spring, and didn't have time to do these two things the right way, I want him to know I would have been more than fine if he had asked me to let him move on and come back at a less busy time for him. This frustration for both of us could have all been avoided. This has dragged on so long and I don't feel he or the rep are truly concerned about fixing these areas. At this point I am tired of dealing with this and can't bring myself to call Henry or the rep again. So I have secured another painter that comes recommended to me to take a look at the door and the porch and give me his thoughts on the cause, how/when to fix it, and give me an estimate. I will also be getting at least one other estimate, maybe two more, so I have some choices and opinions to consider. This is costing more money which is not what I feel I should have to do, but I don't know of any other way to deal with this. These two areas are the main entrance to my house so of course I want them to look right. If Henry comes back I will listen to what he has to say but I will be comparing it to what other painters tell me. I would not hire him again because I don't have time to keep following up on issues that need to be corrected. I can't help but wonder now if there are other areas of the house that I can't see at this point that were rushed and not done correctly. I paid him the full amount of the estimate at the end of the job plus an additional $600 he asked for since he told had to put more than one coat on a number of areas that was not expected when he gave the original estimate. I didn't question this since I know he put four coats on the front door and I asked him to put more than one coat on the chimney area that had some really bare spots. *************************************************** If Henry thinks I am misstating anything here I am open to what he has to say. Like I said in the beginning of this review, I don't like conflict and don't want sour grapes between us - I am truly sorry that I feel I need to write this review since I can see most of the other reviews are very positive. It's just that I felt my concerns needed to be put out there not only for me but for my obligation to others who subscribe to Angie's List.
Description of Work: Painted the exterior of our house including railing and door and concrete front porch, ceiling of back screened in porch, supports for the screened in porch. * 9/29/2015 - I made a mistake and showed the category of the review as Painting = Interior and I have contacted them via email to see if they can correct this to Painting = Exterior

I,m not sure what to say to this report, except that this customer needs three painters to do what she ask and i almost succeeded, she contacted me no less that 30 times before the job with questions of the most obvious nature. but i answered all , then these door knob issues where not in my scope of work , i put two free coats on those doors to cover it red, and it was complete when she paid and i finished, after she changed the hardware she put the maintenance on me, and for her cement front porch floor , no paint will stand up to dragging metal chairs on it, the paint didn,t just pop off, even so i offered to fix it and never heard from her again, now this report, I did over and above contracted ,just look at the length of this report ,it,s a novel.

I contacted Henry in August to perform the above services. He stated that he could get to it at the end of September if the weather held out. A day or two later he viewed the property and gave me an estimate of $6,920 for all three buildings. I accepted the bid and he contacted me on 9/22 to advise that he was working nearby and could begin work the following day. He and his 6 man crew showed up the following day and immediately began working. All appeared to be experienced painters and did a great job of making sure everything was done correctly. The job was satisfactorily completed on the following day. Henry was cordial and very easy to work with. Highly recommended.

MasterBrush is worth the wait. They are very busy and now I know why! The quality of the work was incredible and I am a perfectionist. Our home is brick but has a two story covered entry and is 3 stories depending on the elevation with quite a bit of wood trim. They arrived exactly when they said and in a matter of 2 days, 6 painters did it all! This would have taken me weeks and not nearly as good. They even covered the landscape gravel and were very thorough with cleaning up. Aside from a few ladders, and the first coat of paint you would have no idea they were even there after the first day. Great attention to detail in prepping the surfaces and making sure everything was sealed. The price included top quality Sherwin-Williams paint. I would highly recommend them. They will definitely be the first we call when we need interior painting done.
