The PKA Karate Academy in Pittsburgh has been Pittsburgh's leading Academy for martial arts training, health and fitness for over four decades. The proof is in our product! Many try to emulate but none can duplicate the PKA Karate experience. Safety, fun and tons of great knowledge and experience. Our instructors are continually training ourselves and re-certified on a regular basis, parallel to the updates that law enforcement must go through and also is seen in the teaching industry. This is of vital importance when choosing the proper martial arts academy, especially for your child in a kids karate or kids martial arts program.
The PKA Karate Academy in Pittsburgh prides itself on stellar customer service. The customer always comes first and the ownership, leadership and staff always do the very best to achieve perfect scores in this area. Afterall, the customer is the life-line of any business.
PKA Karate Academy teaches five different age-specific, results-driven, goal-oriented programs that each have different curriculum that grows as the student ages and moves from one developmental stage to the next. We begin at the age of 3 and have taught students as old as in their 70s and 80s.
PKA Karate Academy is also proud to be Pittsburgh's only Academy to have psychologist and psychiatrist tested, recommended and approved programs. Many schools today are still just tossing students onto a mat and teaching them how to "kick" or "punch" or "grapple." That mindset is so outdated and goes back to the 70s.
Try some studios out, then come and experience the PKA Karate lifestyle. We're a family. You certainly won't regret it.
We have two locations, one on McNeilly Road in Pittsburgh and one on Main Street in Burgettstown.
Our sister company, Shield Police / Security Training, Inc., held an on-site annual training and certification class for the St. Clair Hospital Police Force on Thursday, May 26, 2011.
The US Bureau of Labor and Statistics states that one of the most dangerous places to work in an urban environment is an emergency room setting, especially one that has access to a mental health and/or detox unit of any sort. St. Clair Hospital has over the past couple years expanded its facility and is really experiencing some tremendous growth and with the recent closings of other hospitals and local facilities, St. Clair has been also picking up this additional slack in serving many local communities. They are a wonderful facility.
St. Clair Hospital is one of our many hospitals in Pittsburgh that is on the leading edge in regards to keeping their police force continually reviewed and trained and on top of matters when it comes to use of force policy, as well as, training from verbalization through mid-level pressure sensitive areas for patient safety and control, all the way through OC pepper spray and expandable baton annual certification and re-certification.
This hospital is extremely professional and the police force has been a client for over two decades. The training day went very well!
