Overview:
History
Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services began with Louis Beinhauer when he opened his first mortuary in downtown Pittsburgh. Soon, Ferd Beinhauer began to expand by buying property and opening locations in South Shide and on Sixth Street. In 1952, our three story Mortuary located in Dormont burned down but was rebuilt as a chapel to serve the needs of the community. Since then, we have grown to open 6 locations across the Pittsburgh area.

Funeral Services
Once you call us, a licensed Funeral Director will oversee and arrange for our caring and knowledgeable experienced staff to:
- Provide transport for the deceased at our funeral home
- Obtain appropriate paperwork, including death certificate
- Place obituary notice(s)
- Prepare body
- Arrange for burial site along with the grave
- Provide the facility for visitation/memorial service, as well as transportation of
the body and family to the place of final disposition
Cremation is a service that is often selected by our clients with a range of available options. Our cremation services are similar to a traditional funeral with a visitation service and memorialization. Unlike most funeral homes, Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Homes have an on-site cremation service that is staffed by licensed professionals. Your loved one never leaves our care so you never have to worry.

RECEPTION LOUNGE
Our reception lounge can provide a convenient setting, for a time of fellowship and light refreshments after the funeral service. This is a particularly thoughtful gesture to those who must travel some distance after the funeral.
VISITATION ROOMS
Our visitation rooms have been tastefully decorated to ensure comfort and serenity at the time of a loss. Designed to be flexible in their use, our visitation rooms can accommodate everything from a traditional period of visitation to a more contemporary memorial visitation, or even a private family service.
COMMUNITY ROOMS
Available to the Public. Beinhauer offers use of the Community Rooms. The Community Rooms are located at our Peters Township home at 2820 Washington Road in McMurray. They are often used by families as a place to gather for a meal after the funeral service.

Scott is the 6th Beinhauer generation to serve Pittsburgh and its surrounding communities. He graduated with honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, and has been a licensed funeral director since 1996.
Scott is currently the supervisor of the Beinhauer-Fryer Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgeville. In 1999 Scott took on an added responsibility as Director of Funeral Operations for Beinhauer Family Services. This means Scott coordinates the day-to-day scheduling of staff and operations among the six locations that are family owned and operated by Beinhauer Family Services.
Residing in Peters Township with his wife, Tina and daughters, Emily, Madison, and Jocelyn, Scott is involved with the community as a member of the Lions Club, the Life Service Providers organization, Elks Lodge #2213, VFW Post 764 in McMurray, Board Member for the Bridgeville Public Library, The Wealth Builders BNI Chapter, Chamber of Commerce and the South Hills YMCA. Scott's also a fourth generation Rotarian. When he's not serving and caring for the community, he also enjoys hunting, fishing, playing sports, and spending quality time with his family.
Scott believes strongly in family values, personal commitment, and dedication. "The greatest satisfaction any funeral service can offer your family is individual, personalized service," Scott says.

Good Grief Center
Some time in our lives each of us will experience grief.
There's no certain process, no magic healing formula, no correct way to manage grief. There are, however healthy and effective ways to cope with it. The Good Grief Center is committed to helping others during difficult times.
The Good Grief Center is a community-based nonprofit organization located in Squirrel Hill. It is Pittsburgh's first and only comprehensive center for bereavement support. It helps individuals and families in Western Pennsylvania who are having a difficult time coping with the death of a loved one or pet Volunteers on staff are trained to understand grief and serve as educators, listeners, coaches in order to help clients along their healing journey. The services are free. Simply walk-in and schedule an appointment or talk by phone.
